Three Confirm – No extra Charge for 4G (LTE)
That’s correct Three will not charge extra for LTE Data usage.
In a move which may surprise some and will make other networks look at their own plans, Three have today announced that their Ultrafast network will be made available to their existing and new customers without out additional charges to Price Plans.
We have previously mentioned Three’s Ultrafast Internet offering which groups two exciting network technologies, DC-HSPDA & LTE into a single high performance bracket providing high speed internet access to compatible handsets.
DC-HSPDA is already available to 55% of the UK’s population at no extra cost to Three’s customers, and this will increase to 80% by the end of March. Later in the year access to Three’s new 1800Mhz will also be activated increasing coverage and capacity to Three’s user base.
In addition Three will be launching it’s LTE network, all under it’s Ultrafast Internet banner.
No extra cost, no new specific price plans, your handset will automatically use the best network technology that is available to it and it is compatible with.
Early adopters of DC-HSPDA have noticed network speeds in access of 20mbps on their handsets, and as the new technology gets pushed further along with LTE then more users will be able to utilise these impressive speeds.
Three have really taken the initiative in the next generation of network technologies, and EE’s existing LTE price plans are suddenly looking extremely limited and very expensive.
To highlight the potential of Three’s announcement, users of Three’s One plan will have access to Unlimited Internet at LTE speeds without extra cost.
This is the way Mobile Data should be.
